Upper Snake River CWMA Weed Free Material |

Weed Free Materials Initiative: Gravel, hay and top soil are key transport materials for weed seed throughout the state including the USRCWMA. These materials pose high risks to areas of increased development which is occurring
throughout the CWMA.
Action needed:
The Teton Gravel Pit Initiative was extremely successful even though funding was greatly reduced. Resources were targeted toward noxious weed control on county and city owned gravel pits. Six different pits were treated for an estimated 195 acres. This project enabled the county to specifically direct weed control efforts at gravel pits which are often the source of spreading noxious weeds. In the future, this program will be extended to assist private gravel pits if there are sufficient resources.
Weed Free Forage/Straw The following is a link to a listing of Idaho growers of weed free forage and straw. The Idaho weed awareness site will try to keep this list updated. http://idahoweedawareness.org/netcenter/library/weedfreeforage.html |
