  HC RC&D Area population has been steadily increasing since 1940.  The 2002 Area population 

  increased by 60% over it’s 1940 population (72,502). The total Area population in 2006 is 184,391 .

  The growth has been steady in total area, the break down of population by age can be seen. (See

  Table 1).  The age structure of High Country RC&D Area is similar to the age structure of the

  population in the State of Idaho

Bonneville, Fremont, Jefferson and Teton Counties have maintained steady population growth over the entire 22 year phase (1980-2002). All counties increased in population between 1994 and 1997.  This was the only period  of growth for all counties between 1980 and 2002. Bonneville County is the only county reporting consistent  population growth  over a sixty year timeframe 1940-2002.   Other counties show population declines in certain time periods and increases in others.
