High Country
Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council
Area Plan: (Currently being Revised)
![]()
The High Country Resource Conservation and Development Council's (HC RC&D) original area plan was adopted and approved in 1981. Even though that plan was developed to meet the needs at the time, it served the Council well for 20 plus years. The Area Plan is being revised to address needs, challenges and current issues in the area during 2006-2010. A comment period will be open soon for sponsors, board members and the general public to give feedback.
The plan is broken into several elements including: land conservation, water resources, land resources, community development and council development. Within each of these elements is a brief description of some of the current conditions in the area. This description is not intended to be a comprehensive discussion of all the region's issues, but rather a focused discussion of issues where HC RC&D will target the Council's resources. A work plan follows the needs and opportunities section of each element. The work plan identifies the goals, objectives and strategies the HC RC&D will utilize during 2006-2010 to address some of the issues identified in the needs and opportunities section.
